Most of us have no problem spending money. In fact, some say that is their strong suit. But how do you get to a point where you are able to enjoy spending your money? We cover that in today’s show. As a financial coach, I don’t want you just to save, save, and save some more. I also want you to give and spend and be able to do all three things well.
You can really only enjoy spending money if you have planned to do so. It might be fun to spend money you don’t have initially, but eventually that comes back to bite you and you will have to pay that back. If the spending is in your budget and you are doing other things such as saving for retirement or have a six month emergency fund, you have the money to spend. That’s because you are taking care of your needs first, then spending on wants.
Personally my wife and I have been able to purchase a new car, take a vacation, and pay for nice family dinner in the past year with no problems. Why is that? Because we had the money saved and this allowed us to enjoy our money without any problems.
Finally, I'll be doing a webinar titled "YOUR Economy" on Tuesday, November 6th at 9:00 PM EST. Yes, that is election night, but this webinar is not political in nature. Instead we will be focusing on ways to improve YOUR economy not only with your finances, but with your career as well. The webinar itself will be 30 minutes in length and we will have a 15 minute Q&A afterwards.
