Garrett continues his examination of the Book of Ezra where Israelites have returned to their homeland after an exile of 70 years and start to rebuild their temple. The older Jews remember the previous temple and were heartbroken by what was now to become the new temple. The younger Jews who never saw the old temple found joy in this new temple. How can some people find disappointment where others find joy and hope? And why was there such celebration at only completion of the foundation, why not wait and have a huge celebration when the entire temple is complete?
