West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church
Religion & Spirituality
by Reverend Kathleen Rolenz
In some countries, to declare oneself an atheist is a death sentence. In the United States, declaring oneself an atheist is usually met with either pointed questions about your morals, or outright hostility. However, there are hopeful signs that being a “non-believer” is gaining acceptance, but there’s much more to be done. This is the Sunday we will welcome new members to the church, as well as, take up the Outreach Offering for Next Step, a community organization that helps provide care for young adults who have “aged out” of the foster care system. The Free Spirit Band will offer their last performance before the summer break.
