1001 Arabian nights Audio Drama from Sir Richard Burton's timeless classic "Arabian Nights Entertainments Sir Richard Burton’s timeless classic “Arabian Nights Entertainments”
The magic continues as Scheherezade weaves a spell of aural tapestries rife with a ribald and darkly comic murder mystery set in the Western provinces of China, as a bumbling hunchback jester of the Sultan’s court fatefully meets his doom in the hapless Tailor and his Wife’s home. Horrified, the Bacchanalian tailor passes the corpse off to the Jewish Physician, who stumbles over the body down the stairs in mortal terror and at the advice of his wife, lowers the corpse into the larders of a Muslim Reeve, who strikes him and mistakes him for a thief. The Reeve hurriedly dumps the Hunchback into an alley, who is struck down by a drunken Nazarene Broker. The Night Watchman takes him to the Governor and is to be hanged, while the Tailor, Reeve and Physician confess. The Sultan of China is amazed by the antics surrounding the death of his beloved Hunchback, and sentences all four to death. Not to accept a perilous fate, the Broker and the Reeve tell the tale of the two mysterious men they had met the night before, a prince without a Right Hand, and a Man with No Thumbs and the seductive and perilous treachery encountered by two beautiful and mysterious women.
