Episode 311: Looks Like Aedin Wants His Share Of Turkey
It is Thanksgiving week in the United States, so one of the pundits will be stuffing himself with that other form of turkey. As for the other pundit, his kid must really want to be a part of the podcast. Regardless, this is a long one.
Super League results for week 11 get reviewed. The league leaders came through in the clutch. Most of the discussion will be focused on the Fenerbahce-Galatasaray derby. Most of the discussion here pertains to more of why Galatasaray lost the game rather than how Fenerbahce won it. The week 12 schedule gets the rundown. This week features a top of the table clash between Besiktas and Istanbul Basaksehir.
News this week concerns more off the field matters. The broadcast rights for the Turkish Super League were retained by Digiturk. The pundits mostly lament at this development and provide their criticisms of the television conglomerate. Also, the money paid for the rights are analyzed. Also, a former Fenerbahce player and current studio analyst has announced he will put his hat into the ring for the TFF presidency.
European results wrap up this week’s episode. Besiktas pulled off a comeback. Fenerbahce looks in prime position to get out of their group. As for Konyaspor, perhaps the saying “the less said, the better” can apply to their match, and their European excursion as a whole. Osmanlispor, while they still have a shot at advancing out of their group, didn’t have it go so well in Bucharest.
