Job #4 - His Tormentors - October 1st, 2017
I recently heard an interview with Sheryl Sandburg an executive at Facebook. Her husband died while they were on holiday in Mexico. Reflecting on her experience of grief, she says, “We have put grief, adversity, cancer, illness, job loss, sexual assault, all this stuff that people face, in a big old closet," she says. "And people want it IN the closet because it’s easier. People are uncomfortable talking about this. The No. 1 thing everyone I know who’s gotten cancer has said about this, is that no one talks about it. You want to silence a room? Say you were just diagnosed with cancer, or say you had cancer five years ago. People freeze."
This morning we are going to learn to do better than this, to do better than the friends that surrounded Job and who added to his torment. Here is Pastor Brian McVitty at Celebration Church Barrie with "Job's Friends".
This morning we are delighted to feature Pastor Jeremy and Connie Sinnott with a song called “I’M TRADING MY SORROWS”, a song by Darrell Evans.
Today's producer is Derek Welsman and our thanks to radio station Life 100.3 here in Central Ontario.
