Women and Words: Finger in the Dike (and you totally thought we meant the OTHER dyke)
Women and Words Overview 15-21 September 2018
Andi’s back from her latest gallivanting—thanks, Ash Bartlett, for stepping up and podcasting with Jove!—but she and Jove both want to go out to California and take improv classes from Cliffi Mae Henderson. Also, you can learn a lot about gender dynamics by putting furniture together and yes, Pride festivals are still going on around the world (yay!). And people, there are two separate book giveaways going on until the 26th, so come on down and sign up! You could win!
15 Sept.: Women and Wordster Erin Saluta talks a bit about taking classes and she would also like some advice and guidance on starting a book club.
16 Sept.: Author Laury A. Egan stopped by for a Q&A. She also has a new book out, a comedy called Fabulous: An Opera Buffa.
17 Sept.: Author and Women and Wordster Stevie Carroll went to two separate Pride festivals in the UK; Leeds and Manchester. Here are her thoughts.
18 Sept.: Author and Women and Wordster Ashley Bartlett has a tale of a dresser she and her wife put together, and how that ties into some thoughts about gender role dynamics and queer vs. straight relationships.
19 Sept.: Author and Women and Wordster Clifford Mae Henderson is giving away THREE copies of her latest book, Perfect Little Worlds and she has some thoughts about losing an orange tree. You have until the 26th to sign up for the giveaway!
20 Sept.: Author and Women and Wordster R.G. Emanuelle took a few days off from her usual crazy life and went to Montreal and had a blast. Here are her thoughts (and photos!) on checking out of the cray for a while.
21 Sept.: Author Vanessa North came by to chat about her latest release, a F/F contemporary romance inspired by Hays-Code Hollywood, Off Limits. She’s also GIVING AWAY a copy and you can sign up until the 26th!
Also! The Women and Words book lists were updated 21 September, including new releases from September and forthcoming for October.
And if you’re an author who would like to participate in the giant-ass Women and Words holiday book giveaway the Hootenanny, come on down and sign up!
Don’t worry. It may take a little longer to load on some devices/in some browsers.
And we’re gearing up for NaNoWriMo! National Novel Writing Month! Jove and Andi are doing it via the Dirt Road Books Challenge, which they’ll talk about closer to the time. In the meantime, sign up at the NaNoWriMo website and friend Andi (andimarquette) and Jove (jovebelle).
