About guest Eric Bruehl: Born in Lima, Peru, to a German father and a Peruvian mother, Eric grew up in Michigan before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his advanced degree in Roman Archaeology. He fell in love with LA and eventually went to work for the Getty Museum.
Eric Bruehl is the Manager for the Docent Program in the J. Paul Getty Museum's Education Department.
He is a traveler and soccer fanatic, who visits Germany at least once a year to see his team, Bayer Leverkusen, play a couple of matches. From this love arose the podcast that he and his friends affectionately call the Neverkusen Podcast (because Leverkusen NEVER win anything). When he's not watching soccer, you'll find him having a beer in the sun.

Our Podcast PSA for this episode highlights The Paralympic Games.
Sport for athletes with an impairment has existed for more than 100 years and in time, rehabilitation sport evolved to recreational sport and then to competitive sport.
The first such games were held in Rome, Italy in 1960 and featured 400 athletes from 23 countries. In 1976 Örnsköldsvik, Sweden staged the first Paralympic Winter Games. The Games are now the second biggest sporting event in the world.
