E48: The Chappaquiddick Incident
On the night of Friday, July 18, 1969, Ted Kennedy was involved in a car accident that killed passenger Mary Jo Kopechne. What followed was a bizarre series of events, with Kennedy not reporting the accident to police for nearly ten hours, attempting to cover-up details of what transpired on that evening, and acting in a manner that would end his chances of ever rising to the political heights of his brothers John and Robert. This week, Matt and Kayla take on the Chappaquiddick Incident, going through the official timeline of events, discussing all those involved, and dissecting the theories as to what actually happened that night.
