Episode 262 "SECOND LIFE FREEZE DRY"
This week on the podcast we're going to tackle a difficult subject but one that's very important to a lot of per parents who have lost their furry friend.
I am often asked, usually with a quizzical look of disbelief, “How did you get into this?”
While Second Life has an obvious reference to the animals preserved for their owners, for me it has another meaning. Like many people, I joined the workforce immediately after college—first as a teacher and several years later, in the oil and gas industry. After more than 20 years in oil and gas, I found myself wondering what I wanted to be ‘when I grew up.’ Always one to look for answers, I discovered freeze drying and was intrigued.
After lengthy research I entered into a training schedule with Mike (Mac) McCullough of Mac’s Taxidermy and Freeze Dry. Mac is one of the premier pet freeze-dry practitioners in the U.S. His work has been showcased on “20/20” and in the Wall Street Journal. Mac and I discovered a lot of common ground. Our quick camaraderie proved to be fortunate for both of us. I found myself ready to make the move into self-employment far sooner than originally planned, and Mac was ready to step away from the freeze-dry portion of his business and into other areas of interest. We agreed that his freeze-dry business would find its Second Life with me.
Since that time in apprenticeship, studying and training with Mac, I have built a reputation for Second Life Freeze Dry as one of the premier freeze-dry pet taxidermy services in the nation. To date, hundreds of pet owners have trusted me to provide a Second Life for their pet.
As a life-long pet owner and student of wildlife, I bring a special understanding and attention to detail when creating a Second Life for your pet. Should you decide on freeze-dry pet preservation for your companion, I will be there to walk you through the process. Together we will make sure that your pet’s Second Life is all that you had hoped for.
