He Blinded Me With Science: Talking Biotech with Kevin Folta | Episode 046
Universe, what’s good?! Today's episode features Kevin Folta, a public educator and science communicator. Kevin helps the world understand biotechnology, and helped sequence the strawberry genome with the University of Florida, where he has been a professor since 2002.
Ending the monthly discussion around mindset, this episode features discussions on the marketing around food, GMOs, and alternative cancer "cures." Tune in as we discuss his background, enthusiasm for horticulture, and his podcast Talking Biotech. Kevin also takes a few moments to ask Kelsey a few questions on being a young cancer survivor as well!
If you have been frustrated over marketing around dietary choices, this is an excellent interview to listen to, as Kevin is here to diminish the fears about what exactly is in our food. Tune in as we discuss his journey, how his life changed after his breakthrough, and of course, science!
