- What did Jesus do to allow you and I to get to heaven?
- What are we going to do with the life that he gave us and the spirit of Christ that he puts in our heart when we receive him by faith and when we follow him and give our lives to him?

00:14 If you could paint any picture of any scene on the earth and that was going to be the most beautiful scene you can imagine, what would you paint? Well, I want to tell you the day the painting that I have seen painted before my eyes. The most beautiful painting of my life and it is a small picture. That painting is only a snapshot about the painting that God is going to paint in this passage today. Listen to this believers. Revelation chapter 21 verse one through three. Here's the painting that John saw in this vision from God. "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth passed away and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven as a bride made ready, adorn for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, behold, the Tabernacle of God is among men and he will dwell among them and they shall be his people and God himself will be among them."
01:15 The most beautiful picture for me is a bride walking down the aisle. And I will never forget as long as I live the beauty of my two daughters walking down the aisle. As I sort of gave them away to their husbands for marriage, for life. I wept like a baby. I just cried like a baby. There was just no sight more beautiful than seeing your daughter adorn in a wedding dress. And you know what? That is only a teeny sliver of the beauty of the picture of heaven. But God uses the picture of a bride adorn for husband as a picture of what it will be like when we are wed to Christ for eternity in the new heaven, the new heaven, the heaven that will live with God forever and ever comes down out of the sky.
02:05 We've got to ask ourselves, you know, where we going to be when the new heaven comes? And how is it that we're going to get there? Somebody asks a wise man one time, how long has eternity? And the wise man said, you see that little bird and the man said yes. And he said, picture that bird taking a drink out of that lake every 10,000 years and that bird flies away. And then 10,000 years later, that bird comes down to the lake and takes another sip. And then 10,000 years later, the bird comes down to that lake and takes another little sip. And the wise man said, when the lake is dry, then eternity is over. And so it is with eternity and God. One bird will never dry up the lake and eternity never ends.
02:50 And you and I either get to spend our eternity in heaven with God in the new heaven as a bride adorned for her husband, or we get to spend our eternity in hell a place that was built for Satan and his angels. But you've got to walk around the cross to get the hell because God in 2 Peter 3:9 says that God is patient, slow to anger, not wanting any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. So the new heaven is coming and the bride is adorn for her husband today. My question to you is what did Jesus do to allow you and I to get there? And what are we going to do with the life that he gave us and the spirit of Christ that he puts in our heart when we receive him by faith and when we follow him and give our lives to him?
