Saturday Night on the Circle – Episode 30 – R.B.G. - R.I.P.
Friday was a potential game-changing event in the 2020 election cycle, it was announced that Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away due to complications from her long battle with cancer. The nation will not long reflect on the legal career and accomplishments of Ginsburg's position in the Judiciary as both parties become embroiled in the ugly political struggle over the Supreme Court vacancy her death has created. Ironically this puts both Republicans and Democrats in the position to hypocritically battle against the positions they had taken only 4 years ago in 2016 following the death of Antonin Scalia. Mitch McConnell announced within hours of RBG's death that the Senate would hold hearings on a Trump nominee 'without delay' and President Donald trump has announced he will make a selection shortly and the nominee with be a woman. (We discussed potential nominees on last week's edition of Saturday Night on the circle.) Meanwhile Joe Biden attempts to pander to Latino voters by playing "Despacito" at an event in Florida, and Sean Hannity of FOX News struggles to pronouncing and attributing the song correctly in a hilarious blunder. In my hometown of New Palestine the local government has collapsed after a long battle between the Town council and the Clerk-Treasurer came to a long and bitter end-- listen to Ethan Hatcher of Saturday Night on the Circle discuss these items in the news!
