Yet chananya Ben ari has songs about rabbi nachman yet that’s not good enough. Israeli charedim are a special brand of people. I noticed that when I went to yeshiva there.

People used to compose songs in Yiddish too 100 - 150 years ago. Not sure why radio kol berama or kol chai would think its a new genre of music. Believe it or not, composing piyutim was a mainstream thing. I personally can’t stand chazzonus. I find very little of it inspiring. It’s compositions fit to Jewish liturgy. If you’re looking for an emotional fix there’s enough old stuff to sing to. It’s so funny listening to Israeli charedim. Yisha ribbons father has to be a rosh Kolel to put his music
