Ugh I hit the stupid send button LOL anyways I was going to say I recently learned David Hockney is also using an iPad for his paintings... he creates them and then he prints them out and they were being shown I want to see at the Tate or one of the museums over there... they did a whole thing very recently showing his digital work along with his other works. Also I was just discussing the other day with a family member who is one of those rank-and-file type people... if it’s been done forever we should just keep doing it whether it’s good or not and we should never try new things because we have to stay with what we know... what we’ve always done type people. And I was trying to say and explain to her that nothing changes unless someone speaks up or does something differently. And she said yeah but it takes more than one person to change things so why not just keep doing it the way we do it. My head felt like it was going to explode hearing her! I seriously just had to stop talking. Because she just was not getting it. I just don’t understand how people can want to just stay in rank-and-file and never ever question things, try new things, think about things from other perspectives... because doing so may lead to something else beautiful or different! I just don’t understand it I guess LOL I just want to say again this was one of the best podcasts ever! It hit on so many truths!!! I wish I had enough money to drive around all over the country blaring this podcast so everyone could hear it! Seriously... maybe it would help!! 🥰

Best podcast 🥰🥰 I shared this with my hubby even back in the late 90s When electronic drums First became available and affordable for non-celebrity first became available and affordable for noncelebrity drummers, Hubby purchase a set and was so proud of them!! He worked all night for weeks putting in custom patches the whole 9 yards... they were Yamaha made like dsm4 or something lol he would remember the exact name of them. But anyways the first time he set up the kit at a live gig a lot of people gave him so much grief! Seriously it was stupid some people thought it was cool others thought those aren’t real drums. But they were real drums a real drummer was hitting them a real drummer was creating the different patches. It was just silly how people reacted to them at the time. Now now it seems like everybody uses them lol!!

It’s funny. When an artist uses a computer they are cheating but when a writer uses a computer no one says ‘hey, you are cheating. You should use pen and paper to write and how dare you use spell checker, use a paper dictionary!’ I’ve worked on computers and hand drawn as a designer and now as an artist. Neither methods are easy and require a lot of time and effort to learn to use. The computers do not magically produce art for you. I would like to add that even though I'm not a maker of fine art, I think most artists have similar sensibilities. Did I use that term correctly? I So often when I'm watching your videos, I find myself agreeing with you and Klee. More you, though, because Klee seems happy. 😄

I got my degree in theatre when I was over 45. I was the second oldest person in the history of the program. It was uncomfortable to put it mildly. I can say it didn't help me become a better playwright. In fact, I quit writing plays and make videos now. But I will say there's not a lot of talented people in college. I think the talented artists were off pursuing their art.

Oh my goodness! I do get it. Rafi have you tried digital art? Yes, I'm one of those self-taught artists. I had a couple of semesters in art but my career ended up in a whole different field but kept up with being creative. Last few years I have shared my art with the world. I have had a few folks look down on me when I shared more of my education or lack of. It's not a good vibe. But then I do remember how I did not want to advance in digital anything. Computers, Cells Digital Cameras Digital Art! I felt like change was more of an issue for me. Learning and evolving 😁 Anyways I have been up for the challenge and decided to conqueror or lease die trying lol. My son also convinced my burnt-out brain that digital art is art. I argued to him about it. But the brush strokes, the paint the mess and let's not forget the smell. Nothing like a new paint tube lol. You're missing out of the experience! Guess what? I realized no matter what medium you pick its art! I woke up. Last year I bought a digital art tablet. I have a new perspective and respect artists young and older that as long as you follow your passion who am I to judge. Yes still learning digital and it helps me to learn to stay open-minded to new-age tech. 🙂

My music appreciation professor loved to say , “that’s not real music” or “she’s not a real musician” man I bet he hated giving me an A on the paper I wrote about how buskers are modern day minstrels.

Oh! When I’m watching your YouTube videos I’m often thinking about how it relates to music as well! Because I used to manage my daughters music and she quit because of a culmination of things including exactly what your talking about! I wish I could get her to hear this! Sorry for all the exclamation points...
