I’ve really valued Dr Newsom’s staunch advocacy on behalf of women, and was looking forward to this episode in which women of colour’s needs were discussed. However, I was staggered to hear them (Dr N specifically) talking about transwomen as having changed sex from male to female. Yes, males taking oestrogen may have specific needs, but this is nothing to do with menopause. Are these doctors seriously saying they think humans can change sex? I’m not sure how they can be taken seriously.
