Spike's comment that Hattie was not able to attend the Oscars ceremony is wrong. There's no doubt she worked in a racist Hollywood, but misrepresenting the facts helps no one.

A great insight into the creative minds of the craft.
The choice of Laurie Metcalf for the mom was what made me watch the movie. Even in just seeing the trailer I could feel Metcalf's performance.
Loved the interview. It was so interesting to learn about the layers that created the foundation of the film.
Loved the movie. When it was over not one person in the filled theater moved. No one wanted to leave.
