What a load of nonsense this odd fellow spouted. Does he expect that in the West people working for the state or media can just be the judge of what the public should know of our secrets? And therefore the enemies of the West? Certainly there is stuff we should know and actually do btw. But there will be things that must be kept secret for very sound reasons. That is why the likes of Assange must be banged up. As a lesson to others that these laws are very important. Hugely do potentially.

Sorry spectator / turning this off / seeking something more balanced. While I’m on it - Fraser, why HAVEN’T you sacked the appalling Rod Liddle ? He is far beyond embarrassing, and has had surely-must-get-sacked-now moments time and time again. Improve the mag in a single step - get rid of him from good.

Spectator used to be a great organ but it’s getting harder to listen to as it leans increasingly right. Freddy Grey used to be good but now he’s just an overt Biden basher without good reason. His opening question this episode is an example: what possible gain does he think a US president would achieve, if he started giving the Chinese grief over Wuhan - and to what point ? You’re never going to find out the answer, and you will maximally piss them off.

Nadim Zahawi cannot be trusted. He ruled out vaccine passports and then shamelessly brought them in. He is not the only one of course but I am very disappointed in Zahawi who I previously admired. I would like to see honest people like Iain Duncan Smith and David Davis lead us out of this without being discriminatory. There are too many big egos wanting to make important decisions at present.

These are scary times when those standing up for civil liberties and against unscientific divisive policies are labelled far right. The term ‘far right‘ has lost all meaning.
