In California Central Valley, Valley fever occurs when a person inhales spores of the soil-borne Coccidioides fungus. People who live and work around dry earth — farmers, construction workers, firefighters, archeologists and Central Valley prisoners — face the greatest risk.

Love the show and this podcast, but the feedback section and some of the questions asked during it are really starting to annoy me. People need to understand that this is not a documentary but a fictional TV show that’s based on a video game. Although some of the science in the show is based in reality, some of it is just B.S. made up by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin. It shouldn’t be taken too literally or over analyzed. Just watch the show and enjoy the ride, and don’t overthink the mythos.
