(cont.) When the boy (cuz you know there are lots out there) sees he‘s being treated like my ”manly” boys, he‘s not gonna wanna be ”manly”, and he‘ll end up running to people who‘ll plant or even affirm the idea that he‘s gay, trans, or what have you. People say color has no gender and that‘s right; it‘s not immoral, per se, for a boy/man to like things men don‘t typically gravitate toward. That‘s my 2 cents.

My problem, especially now after we know what caused her ceasing to compete, is not that she quit. I mean hey, she's gotta do what she's gotta do; no one will take care of her/know what she needs better than she can. My problem is the media reaction. I think what she did was brave (because there's a lot of pressure on her to do something, but if it pushed her over the edge that's her call to make), but not heroic. As an instructor of mine said, "It's better to tap than to snap."

Thanks guys, this was a great discussion. We really enjoyed everyone’s perspectives and we even got out the popcorn when it got a little heated in the middle there! ;) seriously though, thanks for having this type of debate/discussion. This type of honest talk is what we need right now.
