Greetings from Columbus,Ohio. U.S.
At one spot I heard âRichard set his mimesâ and thought âWell that would have made this a radically different crusadeâ
So essentially every single thing King Richard III said would happen if Henry Tudor took power did happen. Errybody gets disinherited or screwed.
Just splendid! Absorb history with wry wit with Mr Cowther...
Love English history. Must have been there in all my formal lives.
I liked this a lot, and am grateful. My ancestors come from Suffolk, East Anglia. So it's good to hear about it and that we can claim WĹden as our forefather. Cool beans.
What a difference it makes read and then hear history. You've a way of bringing the Anglo-Saxons to life. The point of transition from the basic few-tiered relatively equal society into the Overlord/Underling dichotomy was interesting. Wonder if it makes Tacitus twitch in his grave a little.
It's good to see that the idea of a savage and brßtâl genocide is being debunked. It always struck me nonsensical to believe that an invading force is going to have that kind of organizational power.
It's worth saying that I've read my share of English history and I've yet to come across such a neat little telling of Roman Britain: concise, well paced and I learned a lot. Well done!
I can tell I'm going to love this podcast. Anglo-Saxon history is among my favourite things to read. My ancestors are from Suffolk, as it goes. Cheers from New England!!
I have been listening to your podcast for three weeks. I'm up to episode 50. I'm retired and can listen quite frequently. You get five stars for content as well as your witty delivery. I jumped forward to leave this note as I wanted to know before you ran out of history to talk about. Keep up the good work.
