Everyone should listen to this amazing episode about the effect of Christian nationalism on the USA’s government.

Let’s call this what it was: slavery by claim of mental defect. These men were forced into servitude under the pretext of being declared mentally unfit, and yet their mental fitness was evidenced in their ability to build. No mentally ill person is capable of such detailed construction efforts. They were captives in their own structure.

I see a pattern where Terry Gross no longer interviews intelligent, insightful, and educated black and brown people. This proves my point that she is just not good at interviews that challenges her point of view. She has no range and it shows. Can we just move on with someone who brings in ’Fresh Air ’.

insightful and new information thank you

This was a very interesting interview, but the guest’s vocal fry made her almost unlistenable. Teeth on edge. 😬

I had to turn the podcast off. I could handle the mispronouncing Percival. But hearing Monk mispronounced was too much to bear. Do I live in a bubble? I suppose it is possible that there are Americans who don’t talk to their friends about Monk.

Addition: So, the Saudi gov’t wants to support Israel because of ”the enemy of my enemy is my friend” philosophy? Both countries hate Iran. So, they’ll pull a 🇺🇸-🇬🇧/🇷🇺 WW2-type alliance to defeat 🇮🇷? Thus, that’s why Saudi Arabia is stockpiling 🇺🇸 🪖 hardware?!? 🫨 Unbelievable!! WW3...here we come...smh.

Is it just me or has anyone else ever wondered why Saudi Arabia needs so much 🇺🇸 military hardware? Who exactly are they fighting?

Cat Bohannan, the expert Iin this episode is brilliant and a fantastic communicator. (Well, except for the fact that she says ”right?” Way too often.) I learned a lot from her.

Leslie Jones is one of my favorite ”put it all out there” comedians. Love her authentic self. 💕

Funny peculiar how much of that so called “degenerate art” ended up being stolen and used to buy a lot of new free lives in the USA and Argentina, etc., as well as long wealthy lives in the aforemented! And I add there are still a lot of people of the USA Elites with those stolen artworks hidden in their vaults and other secret and not so secret places they have enjoyed keeping them and basing a lot of their lifestyles upon!

I would also warn that if conservatives get their way and hold a constitutional convention, one thing these ”originalist” will pursue is changing or even abolishing the 13th and 14th amendments. Remember: the U.S. Constitution was meant for landowning free white men. If you’re an originalist, this oroginal interpretation is definitely in your wheelhouse.

If affirmative action is struck down, you can thank Justice Clarence Thomas for that. He’s long held the opinion that because affirmative action doesn’t equal ”equality” and largely aids Blacks, it should be overturned. The irony assuming it is Thomas who strikes it down would be that Thomas benefitted from affirmative action. He never would have become a Supreme Court Judge if he wasn’t black.

OMG! I never put it all together until now. Clarence Thomas’ nomination to SCOTUS was a reward for constantly defending white conservative politicians, starting w/Ronald Reagan, against racist accusations. Since the 1980s, Thomas has received ”favors” from prominent white conservatives for ”towing the good Negro” line. It’s become normal behavior for him throughout his adult professional life! Think ”Stephen” from Django Unchained or ”Sgt Waters” from A Soldier’s Story, and you’ll understand.

The two worst Supreme Court justices to ever serve in my lifetime: Antimony Scalia and Clarence Thomas. Scania, due to his boneheaded ”originalist” interpretations of the Constitution and Thomas for his continued attempts to shed his hatred of his blackness and, thus, excise his personal demons through his judicial rulings. Both have done harm to this country in ways we may never truly understand nor be able to repair for generations.

I LOVE David Hogg! If stupid gun-fetishist politicians would only listen to him, ALL citizens of America would be safer.

Your ❤️ just has to go out to former President Carter. The man was so honest. It never occurred to him that at the precise moment his successor assumed the presidency, he’d been duped with the released of the American hostages in Iran. I bet if he knew at any time subsequent to their release that Reagan was behind the deception, he still would have kept quiet about it. That’s the kind of man Jimmy Carter is. Bless his ❤️.
