One free car per household would be sufficient.
Behind these statistics, there are real families and loved ones mourning the dead. May they rest in peace. I found this a rather blithe treatment of such a serious and tragic issue. Furthermore there was no attempt to put this in context - ”is this a big number?” No comparison to other FIFA World Cup construction data for other venues. Did you look into construnction and unexplained deaths in Qatar before and since the award? Break down data from the countris described? No.
Gardens item shows how ridiculous the ”concreting over the country” argument against more housebuilding is.
More anti-Government propaganda from the BBC. The commentary assumes all asylum seekers reaching the UK are genuine, whereas of course most are actually economic migrants.
Episode unavailable!!!???? Hmm I wonder why?
Of course the number of food banks doesn’t tell us much about food insecurity. When something is free it distorts normal behaviour. You’d think an economist would know that.
An expert from Newsnight??? Are you having a laugh?
Yes, I think it was a repeat of a section of the 12.1.22 prog, done for the World Service maybe?
All very well, but the British Government‘s reason for getting us to wear masks is to protect others. There‘s still precious little evidence to support this approach.
Disappointing but predictable to find the BBC's Tim Harford exhibiting zero scepticism about the Met Office's models. Have we learnt nothing from the spectacular failure of Covid models to predict future trends?
Interesting as always but I'm disappointed the discussion on vaccinating children didn't address the issue of the risk from the vaccine compared with the risk from the virus. Also, is it ethical to vaccinate children with a vaccine that does carry risks, albeit at a low level, in order to protect the community at large?
The Mayflower didn't set sail from Plymouth, "in the UK", Tim, because the UK didn't come into being until 1801.
On the whole I find the show very entertaining especially the sea shanties. However the treatment of the blood clot issue regarding the contraceptive pill vs Astra Zeneca was glib. I'm disappointed that the argument was very subjective- I paraphrase: " A woman using the contraceptive pill obtains a clear benefit whereas someone taking the Astra Zeneca vaccine might not. " really?
There's no data to support that token diversity brings diversity of opinion. This woman is an embarrassment to economics.
I thought this was going to be about people who die during sex! ☺️
Married men aren’t allowed to say they are unhappy !
