Thank you so much for sharing your story. Our experiences are very similar to my own. You validated me by naming the narcissist, trauma, gaslighting and CPTSD. I validate you and your experiences.

I got the impression you are advocating that professional help is not necessary because nothing is actually wrong. The only thing wrong, according to what you're saying, is the person's perception of their circumstances and their intellectual response to those circumstances. All one needs to do is tweek their thinking and the problem is solved? Maybe that's an unfair characterization of what you said as well as an oversimplification, but while it may be true for you, it is not necessarily applicable to everyone, and is certainly an oversimplification of the problem. If the result of PTSD is a severely disrupted life, or even the loss of life in some cases, I would say the afflicted person has indeed been broken, perhaps only temporarily, but broken none-the-less and in need of help.
