The ultimate resource on Calvinism is ”What Love is This?” by the late, Dave Hunt of The Berean Call. If I could commit one book to memory (other than the Bible) it would be this book.
”In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity.” Rupertus Meldenius (early 17th century)
At a Pentecostal church, the pastor equated attending church and not tithing with going to a restaurant, eating the meal, and walking out. He described the action as doing a ”dine and dash.”
The story about the Pastor’s regret and return to the fold is a powerful tactic. It quells critical thinking amongst the listeners who thus far may have been critiquing his speech. The story is the trump card. He ends with fear to paralyse any contemplation of stepping out of line.
I have no experience with Oneness Pentecostalism. Fascinating discussion! In my first church, the congregation stood & prayed facing North, South, East, and West calling back all who left our church family. Keep up the exceptional work!
