I was not familiar with this songwriter, even though I was quite familiar with his collection of 'Greatest Hits', which is surprisingly lengthy. There are hits all over the board with major acts & performers that he provided the superlative songwriting for those well-known stars; the man behind the music!

I absolutely love this episode, and this podcast in general. But in Ep.3, The Ballad of Danny Bailey, Dave Caruso conjures up terrific and indelible images of the song that was cut into the vinyl of the sublime album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John, which is one of my all-time favorite albums. There are so many sonic gems stuffed into this double LP, but the latent pithiness of Danny Bailey is spread out in technicolor by Dave Caruso. I have always loved this song, but having a brilliant songwriter analyze this song under a such a deep lense is a bountiful harvest of all the tricks-of-the-trade is a true revelation to those whom have never heard of the song and even more so for those like me who already love the song.
