I’m disappointed that Phil missed the opportunity to use the pun a-parrot-ly when talking about the parrots in the zoo...

Ugh! Disappointing! I thought this would be a biblical podcast but it’s political and divisive. I wish the podcast had a different name so as to not deceive.

Do we just keep paying as our Christian duty? This sounds like it’s straight from the Bernie Sanders playbook. There are a million wonderful ways to uplift the poor and also encourage innovation, entrepreneurs and benevolent giving. Let’s focus on those and get off the lazy logic of ”tax the rich.”

Very disappointing choice of book and author for such a vital christian topic. Comparing the mortgage deduction to public housing vouchers as if they’re apples to apples? Unbelievable. There are so many wonderful biblical reasons to encourage homeownership, which is its purpose, that rental vouchers don’t do, for starters. But also the general admonition for the rich to just pay what they owe, and all our problems will be solved? Who decides what’s the right amount to pay? Or increase? Do we j

Listening from Boston and while tempted to swell with WASPy pride, I ultimately found the self-righteousness and schadenfreude in this episode cringeworthy. I encourage the team to listen to this one again.

I’ve seen the Chisen Jesus passed around so much, like it’s Jesus . I know of artists using it as well. I’m just thinking, ya know that’s NOT what he looked like, right? As an artist myself, I avoid making images. I don’t know how it would be used or understood. I’m hesitant of crises even, as so many wear them, using as idols. I avoid the Chosen because of how Jesus is portrayed theology-wise. If millions of LDS love it, then the core of who He is and was killed for must be being left out.

Your views about the police are naive. Most Black families HAVE to start early teaching their children, and especially their boys, to avoid police to keep from being killed. This is not a problem of “a few bad apples” but of inherent racist practices in law enforcement systems across the country.

Congratulations on 500 and 10 years! Keep challenging the status quo ! Thank you for helping me know I’m not crazy! And I am with the women on this- “news of the Butt” is cringy ! I love light hearted laughter but this makes the podcast harder to share with my friends who would really enjoy your ideas and banter otherwise!

I don’t think that word means what you think it means. Gawd awful podcast wokeness. And yes Phil your such an existentialist. I’m sure there wasn’t one family out there thinking little veggies were the Christian offering to saving children from scooby soo… pathetic thinking.

The question needs to be asked of anyone declaring themselves pro-life, how do you feel about the black lives matter movement and white privilege? If they are against BLM and don‘t believe that people of color are disenfranchised they are really pro-birth.
