”Radio is the theatre of the mind”

I listen to this Podcast Station every night before bed and I enjoy it so much that I fall asleep and wake up to it. This is better than watching TV and falling asleep and waking up to turn the TV off! Thank you for giving us memories to enjoy and remember!

Tbh, I don’t think Dakota’s commentary adds much to this episode. Recapping the story I just listened to doesn’t add anything to the experience.

Silly thing to nitpick but I think you converted the pounds into dollars and then figured out the rate of inflation on USD since 1926 to get that 500 number, which isn't probably the best way to get back to the value. 50 pounds in 1926 would be something like 3 thousand pounds today, which would be something like 4 thousand USD. Still not a lot when you think about murdering for it though, to be fair. Love the show! Just discovered it and I'm super stoked!

Sorry but this story insulted my people. I had to turn off after 10 minutes.

What strikes me as strange is that as you say with the exception of a couple of recounting like the Hyman Brown episodes, narrative OTR died around 1960 with I think a Last episode of Johnny dollar. But in the UK narrative radio has gone on continuously. Just listen to BBC4. Besides you and others who podcast OTR, I also appreciate the new generation of Podcaster who are making modern story-based podcasts like welcome to nightvale and many, many others

That opening theme music from episode 1 is a lot like the Halloween theme music......
