I went to a community meeting where the police officer explained that there is no way to make your house impregnable. The purpose of home security, from locked doors to alarm systems, is to make your home less attractive to criminals than your neighbours house.

Thank you for being willing to share your thoughts on Covid and vaccination. People need to hear their pastors encourage health as I fully believe Jesus would. Blessings!

Greg and I disagree when it comes to the concept of citizenship. I anticipate the kingdom because it's a promise through my faith. This does not release me from my responsibilities as an American to my society and neighbor. Greg doesn't vote but I feel it is the most important thing a person should do for their neighbor. You can't love them unless you move to provide for the least of these. Certain politicians only serve themselves. I am not serving others if I don't vote with love in mind.

For an additional perspective, I heard an African American friend's thoughts on Juneteenth recently. It was eye opening. She said that although the heart of the government is in the right place, making Juneteenth a federal holiday only results in another white person's holiday. The government workers and bankers get a day off while the lowest paid people of color are still forced to work. It is their holiday, but in the end, it isn't. But I don't know how we resolve such a dynamic as Christians.

Imposter syndrome is a scourge to me. It's always good knowing I'm not alone.

Eye opening perspective by Keith Giles of mistaken literalist rapture "wait for God to rescue us" reading of Gospel and world view thereof. Instead God expects us to be actively building His Kingdom, with the collaborative assistance of the Holy Spirit, and thereby assist in the return of Christ.  God's invitation to His: to take up a role in His epic of all epics end-time unimaginable adventure, during present apocalyptic-like events. We are the Second Coming! Utterly AMAZING last 5-6 minutes.

Where does revelation fall into the three spheres of thinking? We are all at different places in our faith and need each other to get a more clearer picture of God. We are all sons of God through faith in Christ in true humility of course, yet it is not revealed to us all equally.

What are we afraid of, greater is he who is in us than he that’s in the world.

Re: Oord’s press against Boyd’s use of “accommodate” regarding OT writers: could not Boyd use “suffers their misperception” as in a genuine double entendre: “love is longsuffering” AND God’s name/reputation/‘the-way-God-is-perceived’ “suffers” by being portrayed like other ancient Near Eastern deities? God is not so much accommodating their views as much as God is genuinely bearing the harm of their naive misportrayals; misportrayals that, given the limits of their socio-cultural expectations, are inevitable? Analogy: my child misperceives that I acted violently against our neighbor and tells the neighborhood kids this mischaracterization. I know his view is deeply mistaken, but I also know he and his friends are not yet mature enough to understand nuances essential to a better view. I must wait until time takes its course and he and they mature to a point where he can grasp the matter better. Until then, if I love my child, I must suffer the real damage done to my reputation and, while doing so, patiently endure (“longsuffering”) this misconstrual until he/they can be taught out of their honest, but naive, misperceptions.
