This episode is incomplete. I wasn’t able to hear the final minutes of what happened to Frederick Douglas. The last phrase I heard was ”the parties begin to splinter” then it moves on to the next episode. I am loving your podcasts! Thank you for your story- telling style. I have never been more interested in American history! Rolyn Beaird

Chet was in no way the least qualified man to be President. Trump definitely and Bush 2 maybe were demonstrably less qualified

I am disappointed that a professional historian would make a mistake in saying royal army. There has never been a royal army in either England or Britain though they do have a royal navy, marine corps, and air force. The reason being that the army was originally composed of the king's vassals' men and not those directly loyal to the king like the other institutions I mentioned.

The volume of the audio adds (3rd party) is at least twice to 2.5 X That of the regular audio. Not exaggerating but the spike in volume is close to doing damage to my "Blast" speaker

Man I really tried to like this podcast. I just cannot get past the content “oh the poor blacks, Indians, Jews, etc.” it gets old. Tell us a good story and stop virtue signaling.
