I’ve been an advanced Combatives instructor for 30 years. The whole ”A gun wins a knife fight” theory is nothing but a myth. I’ve proved it many times with training weapons. If someone attacks you with a knife, and you have a gun, you need to commit to a knife fight. You won’t be able to draw and fire a gun fast enough. And people who get shot don’t usually die instantly. They can often continue to fight. And in the chaos of combat things don’t always work the way we think they will.

The father of my brother’s friend was a Florida Sheriff on their dive team (former Navy Seal). He was the guy sent into the water to find bodies. He really liked cave diving, which is crazy-dangerous. He used to cave dive in his free time. He said about every other time he’d find a body in the cave.

The last time I drove a motorcycle 160 MPH (no helmet, of course) the engine seized. I left a bit of a skid mark before I could get the clutch in. I also flew an airplane under a bridge once. So I can relate to living dangerously (stupidly?).

Am I the only one that can’t stand the constant giggling the BCB has?? Its like a nervous tick he has. The guy laughs after everything he says, making this once great show UNBEARABLE.

”The humanistic aspect” I love this. I am a humanistic therapist and love his idea of helping the living and the dead. I worked with a young woman years ago who was devastated by the death of her grandmother. 6 months after she died she visited my client in a dream and said that it was ok for her to let go, she was happy and told her granddaughter that she’d always love her. This really helped my client to heal.

”The media” claims people are leaving ”organized religion”, but I’m not seeing it. I’m Catholic and our small church usually gets 20 kids per year for religious education (high school students). This year we have over 100. I don’t put much stock in what ”the media” says. I think it’s mostly wishful thinking on their part.

I don’t really follow wrestling, although some of my family had ties to it several years ago. But I looked up Jay, the wrestler mentioned. First of all, 38 is much too young for anyone to die in these modern days. And it’s also very disturbing that two of his children were hurt. Once in a car crash, and another time when they lost their father. Children shouldn’t have to suffer such pain. So they are in my prayers.
