Good discussion. Ibthink Volokh has the right of it. The cancel culture behavior is a form of attainder. Thats why it is so scary. Also illegal. And we should have a legal framework that prohibits attainder and lynching.

I don't know much about politics or what is going on in the world, but I do believe that the overwhelming reason that the Donald became the President are the evangelicals. My wife is one and when I talk to her and her friends they tell me how much they hate him as a person, but are willing to overlook that if it is the only way they could overturn Roe v Wade.
