The so-called Freedmen are the original American Indians who were classified as Negro or Black. Our identity was stolen by these 5 dollar Indians who legally owe us back our lands and birthrights.

Thank you for this conversation! You all brought up some things I didn't think of about the show. I was (and still am) on the fence about it. I saw some of the problematic issues, and it was so hard watching FN communities having to do all the emotional labour again... I watched the discussion pannel after on the shows FB page and it was much more thought provoking discussion. Thanks again for this!
