I reckon the gold was taken by the lady he left the instructions to,and probably to the cop too. She wither kept it to herself or went halves with the copper. Since she didn’t call all his friends like she was supposed to, his dying wish, I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if she took the gold since John told her where it was.
Words cannot capture the depth and courage of this podcast. So thankful for everyone involved in the production, and the bravery of those it gives voice to. Controversial? Yes. But also essential.

I'm always late to the game. First I heard of S. Town. I'm on chapter 4 and each chapter you have my alliances swinging back and forth between family and friends. Every chapter I an learning that everytime I'm ready to judge one of the players as good or bad, I can't. Excellent reporting and editing. A movie simply could not do your story justice. Cudos!

Horrible. Voyeuristic and made just for views. Despise things like this. I stopped listening at episode 3, but read online that Reed outed John as gay. Despicable and makes this nothing but trash. Reed should be ashamed of ever making and releasing this.
