Tired of ppl using things like undiagnosed/self-diagnosed ”disorders” as an excuse for laziness and other such anti-virtues. I was diagnosed BPD & truly suffered. W/hard work and God’s grace, I got better - why can’t others? I was genuinely so sick! But that’s no excuse. It’s simply a why to the problems I had.

Great discussion. I am a homeschool mom as well. My kids live in pajamas and sweat pants.

On the other end of the spectrum, why do overweight women feel the need to comment on my body size? “Skinny-mini” is the most frequent. I would NEVER comment on their appearance, why do they think it’s ok to comment on mine?

However, please remember that there are jobs our fathers have that are 24 hour commitments and we’re GRATEFUL for them. Military Police Fire EMT Doctors Nurses Pharmacists And many others. We can’t forget them, their sacrifices, their family’s sacrifices…

I’ve preordered the book because I need better language to use with my young adult daughter. She sees the men in our family as the exception and most others frighten her. She attends a Christian college and believes abuse and power-seeking patriarchy in the church is now the norm. I’m hoping the empirical data will show her a different viewpoint.
