The constant use of granular fertilizers also adds unnecessary salt to our soils, raising the pH further which then leads to sodium/alkalinity issues. Research has shown that fungicides and pesticides are killing the beneficial bugs while also disrupting the ”microbiome” of the soil so to speak. We also know that these chemicals have affected the DNA structure of these microbes which reduces microbial action within the soil, thus leading to more problems.

Good discussion but i can’t help but think that Pattern Ag are being contradictory here. They are aware of the importance that the microbiology has to the soil & plant health but then suggest using a fungicide and seed treatment and/or pesticide to help combat those said issues. The data available actually has shown that the reason for disease & pest issues is from poor ”unhealthy soils” typically because are soils are now bacteria dominated instead of fungi dominated.
