Your organisation is diabolical. The programmes do not run sequentially and go backwards. Pathetic and too annoying.
So much interrupting by the hosts in this episode. Anita... please!!! Talking over the top of him, finishing his sentences, adding tidbits to show your knowledge, or ’yeah’, ’right’, ’hmmm’, ’wow’, etc. Could you just let your guest say a few sentences without getting yourselves in there?

This chick is such an idiot. I gotta unfollow this podcast. Has potential.
Lenin made many overtures for power sharing with the Provisional govt. Beevor’s focus on rhetoric over policy misdirects. He also implies the Bolsheviks started the Civil War when on taking power Lenin demobbed the army and the first move for Civil War was made by the Whites. The White army committee far greater atrocities than the Reds including antisemitic pogroms. While the Reds violence deserves to be emphasised they weren’t unique or exceptional in any regard. Fitzpatrick covered this.
Sorry my earlier reply got cut off. Anyway, I have been a fan of the series and I will continue to follow it. Nonetheless Mr. Beevor’s claims strike me as more than a little biased. I appreciate this is a partisan event but there are historians like Sheila Fitzpatrick who do take a more global approach and are attentive to all sides. Mr. Beevor’s neglects the fact that Lenin wasn’t the only major revolutionary dispatched by the Germans. Several others including Mensheviks were also dispatched.
I have been wondering about how to find a history of slavery and - at last! - I have found it. Many many thanks for a wonderful series.
