Minimum baseline population to support an AFL club is 500k. NT total pop is 140k (Darwin 60k) so impossible to base club there. Makes more financial sense to move financial basketcases from Melbourne to Tassie (500k) and ACT (500K). The Southern Saints and Canberra Kangaroos would allow existing support base to still have good access to a significant proportion of their games. Tim
