It’s not an unusual thing for people to not consider the prospective of others. For instance, the story about the dad and his son. The dad probably thought ”I provide you with a home, food, stuff from my work and you think you might give me some of the money from the suit! Go to your room and think about what you just said to me.”
Family in Israel. Really? What about Palestinian families. I mean when you present through the lens of family all can sympathise. But to deliberately chose to present Israel family while there is more then genocide (if that is even possible) happening in Palestine is a disgrace. My favourite show. Disappointed.
I LOVE THIS EPISODE. Especially Bobby’s story. I wasn’t as bad as he was, but was a bit similar. I’m in long-term recovery now and still am prone to the same kind of self-defeating self-talk that he had. It’s hard to let go of those old feelings that we have about ourselves, even when they are no longer true. There are a lot of us out here like that. We need to pull out that tape and stomp on that f***er! One day at a time, people, that’s all we got. RIP Bobby.

Once again Ira Glass has to give his own personal view on current events. This has never been a political podcast and it shouldn’t be at any point in time. When is he going to learn to keep his opinion to himself? Just host the show and play stories. That’s all people want.

Thos is ridiculous. Becca could not find an emergency room in the middle of the night? She chose to wait this out for a clinic to open. Something is wrong with this story.40 years ago I had a pregnancy where I too lost amniotic fluid and I did deliver early and the baby was stillborn. I did not wait for a business to open. I went to a hospital.
