What about when people lie to you and try to get you to commit suicide?

Odette started to talk about how once she hit the 6 month mark, it got harder, she went back to the behavior she knew and that is when she slipped. I wish she could have expanded more on that. I really related to her. I too have had an eating disorder and NEVER connected the two until now. I now see when I was drinking I would skip meals and drink instead because of the calories. I had 6 months sober and then I slipped, I am recently climbing back up. But during 4-5 months I had shifted my focus and was counting calories using MyFitness Pal. Going back to something I could control. Wow! What an eye opening episode!!

Hi Paul,None of these drugs are stand alone treatments, but can be a useful tool to have in your sober armoury . Campral does help with cravings, as when someone has drunk excessively the neurotransmitter glutamate becomes dampened down, and when drinking is stopped, it gets excited again, and it's this excitability which causes cravings . The Campral reduces the excitability of the glutamate. The neurotransmitter taurine which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter becomes more activated by Campral. The combination of these 2 factors reduces cravings. The Campral helps to redress the balance in the brain. I'm a registered psych nurse, and I've seen it work very well. I myself, have been on it for 8 days and finding it very helpful. I do alot of reading about addiction and recovery, plus I'm a moderator on a fantastic support network called New Day For Me. Please do Google it. It's important to have multiple strategies. I live on the Gold Coast in Australia. I have only just found your podcasts and am enjoying them very much. Thanks for all your work : ) Caz
