Regarding Jesus this is not exactly correct, most of the writings were about 100 years after Christ which is not far after. The church fathers and the gospel authors together with for example Josephus provide substantial evidence for the existence of this Jesus. Also taking into consideration the many thousand manuscripts of the new testament. Your comparison to LDS is thus falty.

Non-mormon Christian here. Just fyi Jesus was not refered to by hebrew Yeshua. In the entire greek new testament, even Hebrew authors refers to Christ as Iesos, even though their mother tongue was Hebrew. Thus our Jesus is almost identical to how the Apostles and early Christians said the name.

Hold up. At about 40 min there's a quote from JS (I think) asserting that Abraham was ordered to sacrifice Isaac even though "it was written 'Thou shalt not kill. '" Whoops, no it wasn't. The 10 Commandments were not given to Moses until centuries after Abraham.
