The big problem I see is the technology to find disasters is getting better but the infrastructure to survive these disasters is not keeping up. Radar tells people when and where there will be tornados but I don’t see survival getting better, and why are there cities in the tornado zone anyway?? Every year!

Listening to the astronaut one where the father of an astronaut said in his life time he went from no planes to his son going to space. I was in a speech competition in 1977 when I first heard about Black Holes and I’ve seen photographic evidence of one now and that’s so amazing. But I wonder about us non scientists who need to ”see” something to comprehend. How limiting is it?

One can see why co-presenter Robin Ince recently decided to part ways with the BBC - seeing how they refuse to bring on any qualified expert on these matters in fear that they might upset a certain audience, creating a very one-sided and shallow reading on many topics that might have been rather interesting.

A lot of talk about humans being monogamous and no discussion over the countless evidence of polyamory throughout our history and the different cultures that reflect our serious diversity on this topic. Not to mention the high rates of divorce and affairs even within the monogamous system that we are in currently. I’m saying this as someone who is not polyamourous, just interested in this subject. I found this episode seriously lacking, much like many BBC programs discussing sexuality/gender.

Bury this show now that The BBC has forced Robin Ince out.

A new study reveals that potatoes originated from an ancient hybridization event between a tomato ancestor and a potato-like plant species, occurring roughly 9 million years ago. This interbreeding event led to the development of the potato’s signature tuber, an underground structure for storing nutrients, which is not found in the tomato.
