I'm interested in what happened to Richard, but I have to say.... I have come to feel that after 5 episodes, all these 'fans' and 'friends' of his feel incredibly entitled. None of them are owed his attention and love, no matter what he gave them in the past. Absorbing the pain of all these thousands of people he's helped sounds BRUTAL. He needs and deserves a break from it, for as long as he wants. Who cares if it was abrupt, and not 'nice'? The man isn't Jesus, give him a break.

I love season 1 and season 2 might turn out to be even better. This is one of the best podcasts out right now

The last time I saw Richard was Detroit in '68 and I told him all romantics meet the same fate.

I saw today a recent video of Richard, being escorted into his home by 5 L A Police Officers and a Police helicopter. Of what could be seen of Richard whilst in his car, returning from hospital, and whilst out of the car, though covered by a blanket, he looked very frail and very old with visible grey hair and he walked almost haunched over, semi hobbling. To me that is not the signs or image of a healthy individual let alone Richard, I do not and cannot understand why alarms are not ringing in places, .... Maybe someone should check to see if the "House Keeper" has power of attorney over Richard or and is his Appointee by law! Surely that would confirm a few suspicions clearly raised in this podcast series, which is wonderfully gripping, and yet sad...to media exposure. Though not seen in public before this for 3 years now I believe?! ( He refused to leave the car, staying sat whilst the car was parked in his garage, in 100 degree heat! Even reporters raised concerns to the LAPD regarding Richards welfare and exposure to heat...the act an acts of a rational, sane man? OR the actions of a man hiding a illness from his fans. A Bi Polar. Credible given his behavior over the course of his career. B Parkinson's. C Alzheimer's. D Cancer/Leukemia. Though unlikely as there would be evidence of treatment. Or Senile Dementia, which would explain the power and control the "House Keeper" seems to hold/weld over Richard, His home, and his public and personal life....

Incredibly interesting. Well done! Thank you. Hadn't thought about this man in years. Fascinating end to his public persona. Amazing he was able to give so much to others for so long

He saved lives, how is that fake. He gave a lot of himself, not always charging. He's a good person. Enjoy your retirement Richard <3

Really good story. Thanks for sharing this piece of the human puzzle.

leave the man alone. he has done enough. if you want to pay him back for everything he has done for you then give him the gift he wants, not the one you want. let him be.
