I agree, making you come back in to continue using something they’ve already said you’ll be using the rest of the pets life is crazy. It’s the same policy for people.
Ken, your comments about the old lady were disappointing to me, as they were so unkind. Did you consider mediation? There are some better ways to communicate with neighbors.

Usually quite good advice, however hard to get past the sprinkling of religious advice as well. I don’t need to be told I need to follow Jesus! Or Bible readings, many of your listeners are either not religious or are of a different religion from yours. That’s why I don’t follow Ramsey, but I do listen occasionally because it’s a decent show with helpful info.

I think that is not great advice to rip up the cheque and then never pet sit for them again. That is passive aggressive and will only cause underlying tension and resentment in their relationship. These are her parents and I don’t get why this is a financial transaction in the first place. Family should help each other out with no expectation of payment. She should have accepted what Mom thought was correct and going fwd had Dad part of the convo. But Geez, just do it as an act of kindness!
