It’s flippant to say an iPhone would cost £4000 or that people wouldn’t pay that if we didn’t have china, firstly apples earliest laptops adjusted for inflation cost £16,000, and people payed that, secondly apples profit margin on the current £1500 iPhone is large, the phone doesn’t cost that much itself but a lot of money goes into the App Store and software, so firstly an iPhone could cost as little as around £800 right now with some tweaks to their business model
