Once again, great podcast man. I have been listening to the kj podcast for years and i really enjoy them. I love the longer podcast because i work nights and it helps me get through the night. Saying that, the niners fron 4 needs a name. I came up with the front 4 blood hounds. Tell me what you think.

I'm gonna nitpick about the Mullens/Mathews play. For one thing, Mathews looked a little slow. Also, the radio guys were saying he was supposed to continue across the field, and Mathews had turned towards the post when he realized he was all alone (I'd have to see the All 22 which isn't available for the preseason). Finally, Mullens could've put a little more air under the ball instead of throwing a laser (his arm strength looks improved this season). Combine all three of those factors, the pass just missed, which is not atypical of a deep throw. I'm not completely absolving Mullens here, but he definitely doesn't deserve all the blame either. These things happen. What IS important is how he responded after that. He went on to complete a difficult 3rd and 10, and made several more key throws on that drive (including some to Mathews), and lead the team all the way down for a Touchdown. CJ just hasn't shown the poise, and every defense of him is that he hasn't lived up to his potential, which is a bizarre defense. Ultimately it would be a mistake to keep 3 QBs on the roster, especially when we have very difficult cuts at other positions looming.
