Really enjoyed reading this book! I feel that I’ve learned more about Justice Thomas and the Supreme Court as a whole.

It is often said that slavery is America's original sin. Honestly, it's the world's oldest sin which virtually every society participated in one way or another. Native Americans certainly had slaves and often raided rival tribes to aquire slaves or add to their own tribe's numbers. You shouldn't look at Native Americans as a whole because each tribe behaved and acted differently from another. The peaceful nature loving Indian untainted by sin is a myth.

@reynoldsmachinehr : Slavery was an evil. It was not an evil unique to the United States. It was in the past. Move on and get over it. I am of Native American descent. The accurate historian will readily acknowledge we were treated worse than African Americans. We were wholesale slaughtered. It's in the past. Get over it and move on

Excellent discussion with Andrew Peterson. Creativity and the arts within the Church is essential and as you touch on with the question, is America a decadent nation, I believe there is a growing movement of people looking for more. The loss of purpose, value and dignity that has been entrenched in our education system since the early 1900s has born it's fruit. Loss of creativity, engagement, purpose and beauty as seen from God's eyes has created great loss, depression, anger and by those who support the secular academia; denial. Classical Christian education, however is a beacon of contrast filled with hope and renewed focus on investing in and raising up a generation who knows how to think, engage, lead, create and influence towards real hope. I would love to hear a discussion on a recent report that just came out by Notre Dame, The classical Difference. They were shocked by the results, even ran the numbers twice. But there is a strong correlation and even evidence that points to a better way to educate our children. I mention this because the books that Andrew Peterson and Mohler discuss are the very books being studied in the classical classroom. And the mention in is America a Decadent Nation points out there seems to be a loss of the Renaissance man. However, as prople are waking up to the seriousness of the lost tools of learning, a new generation of parents are engaging with Classical educatiin. Great minds are being trained. Every age has its people who beautifully contrast, lead and hold out life to those around them in great need. The study is worthy of your attention.
