To clarify for other learners reading this, I suppose you could think of beki and hazu as meaning 'should do/be thing' and 'expected thing' respectively, rather than as the English version 'should' and 'expect'. Japanese is a very noun-centered language in this way.

Great podcast! Just one thing, I'm not sure if you mispoke but beki and hazu are nouns, not verbs. I just wanted to point this out as it may cause confusion.

Really enjoying this podcast as a supplement to my independent study of japanese. I'm always looking for additional resources and this is a useful one. I just started the 30 day challenge 2 days ago, and so far so 👍
