The word woke is a term to tar all with the same brush. The reality is that there’s always been middle class liberal folk who seem to care more about animals and trees than they do the poor or working class people. The word woke is used to shut down debate by saying that if someone argues about justice or fairness, or liberation from exploitative forces then your just another snooty liberal stuck in theory, removed from real world practice. Don’t justify that vague, instrumental term.

TY for this interview! I could not vote for someone who refuses to see parallels between genocidal colonizations of Indigenous people around the world & Palestinians. I’m very frustrated by never hearing Israelis or their supporters join Landback efforts by Indigenous peoples who want their historical lands & waters back. They go back far more than 6,000 years!!!
