The root of Israel’s current problems is the rise of special forces officers to becoming chiefs of staff of the IDF. They have this idea of working with Mossad to decapitate Arab terrorist forces as part of confronting Hezbollah or Hamas. But it just does not work. But they won’t admit it and face up to it. Ehud Barack was the first of them, but in the years since they are more often the chief of staff than not
The Colonisers had one job guard the fence and keep iron dome working. Now we all have to deal with the reaction ripples from this. Shame on Bibi’s incompetent government. Free Palestine 🇵🇸
Amen to the american soldier. We in america ought not to be helping merely out of national interest, but more importantly because it’s honorable and right.
Disappointing. More Breakfast TV superficial than the In-depth examination it claims to be. The hosts seem unaware of how Colonel Blimpish they sound. Nothing here that isn’t covered in more depth by podcasts like War on the Rocks, Silverado Geopolitics, Arthur Snell’s Ukraine, or the daily ISW newsletter. The best contributions are those of others- the Sebag episode was timely and useful. Self important armchair warriors, insist we take them on their own estimation. All ”me,me,me.”
Smugness about the leaker is why there is division within our society. Label him then dismiss him and not talk about the information released. Poor
This leak drama has many news outlets verbally running in circles like the sky is falling. Imho, it shows more about the perils of social media & beurocratic structures (even in intelligence) than anything really new in international spying/diplomacy. I think the airman will end up being no more than an attention seeker who used the wrong ’bait’ in his social group. Frankly stupid. Well, he’s achieved attention. The distribution is just the viral nature of online egos combined with opportunism
fascinating as always.
This is a brilliant , engaging and informed podcast . Great to have some input now twice a week . Thanks guys …. Keep it up
This is the first episode I’ve listened to and I am impressed with and enjoyed the analysis. Thank you. Julia
Fascinating and really informative. Thank you.
What incentives do the US administration have to end the war?
I was going to listen to the Battleground podcasts but decided against it. The truth about Bucha and the Azov Battalion responsibility for the atrocities there is no well documented by Western aid and medical people who went there in the aftermath of the Russians leaving. Thanks you can keep your CIA funded ( I suspect) propaganda channel
